The Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association is anticipating a 7-9% increase in timber exports, amounting to $18 billion, in 2023. Despite a deceleration in export growth, the forestry sector is projecting a rebound in Q1 2023, following the $16.9 billion worth of Vietnamese timber and wood product exports in 2022.

To enhance the competitiveness of the domestic production of timber, Vietnam’s timber industry is aiming to decrease wood imports, adopt science and technology to boost productivity, hasten the digital transformation to cut down production costs, and expand trade promotion activities at international fairs.
