The Wood Industry Targets A 3 Billion USD Market in ASEAN

The ASEAN wood products market is worth more than 3 billion USD, but Vietnamese businesses have not focused on exploiting it for many years. In the current difficult context, wood industry enterprises can focus on exploiting the ASEAN market.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem, Director of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Ho Chi Minh City, said that in the first 7 months of 2023, the export of wood and wood products reached 7.2 billion USD, down 26.4% compared to the same period in 2022. The program has the theme: “Where the quintessence of Southeast Asian furniture converges”, bringing together many prestigious domestic wood and fine art manufacturers and processors from Ho Chi Minh City and provinces throughout the country. Besides, there are units from many countries and territories such as the US, Korea, China, Japan, India, Netherlands, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia…
